In 1969, Ángel García created his own family business in Granja de Rocamora, Alicante, in south-west Spain. His passion for farming led him to pioneer tying, training and anchoring systems in the agriculture, flower-growing and gardening sectors.
Rubangel is a company in which experience and youth walk hand-in-hand with Ángel himself and his children: Lourdes García, who is responsible for foreign trade and administration; and José Ángel García, who is responsible for manufacturing and marketing in Spain and Portugal.
Since its incorporation, Rubangel has invested heavily in research and, as a result, it has achieved materials with specifications that offer farmers the highest possible guarantee.
In January 1975, Ángel García introduced tying systems into the viticulture and flower-growing sectors and produced important benefits as a result.
At the beginning of 1985, progress was made in the manufacturing process with the creation of numbered tapes, which is very useful for flower-growing cooperatives. By way of example, the implantation of this system increased quality assurance.
In the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Rubangel established itself on the East Coast of Spain and in Murcia and Almería.
At the end of the 1990s, the ambition to spread the word about its tying systems led Rubangel to expand across Spain and into Portugal, Morocco and, above all, Latin America.
In 2007 it started manufacturing oxo-biodegradable tapes to meet customers’ demands.
Since 2008 it has marketed the highly reliable Tape Binder range of professional tape tools, including the TB-B, TB-F and TB-R models.
At the beginning of 2012, it started tests with biodegradable tapes for organic crops, which are in great demand in Europe.
Over the last 40 years, Rubangel has grown continuously thanks to its constant vocation to finding new latest-generation products and new applications for its systems – a vocation it intends to continue.
